Guaranteeing a 99.9% vacuum, it rapidly slows down the deterioration and oxidisation of food whilst retaining nutrients, flavours, and aromas.
Preserve freshness and reduce waste - The vacuum sealing process helps to remove air from the bag or container, creating the ideal conditions for longer food shelf life and storage in the fridge, freezer or in the pantry. Vacuum sealing can help to store food up to four times longer than at room temperature or in the fridge.
Three vacuum levels - Delicate, Medium, and Maximum vacuum level settings ensure the correct seal is achieved for various cooked and raw foods. These precise levels guarantee to preserve the integrity of a wide range of food and, if required, prepare for sous vide cooking.
Special chef function - The Chef function creates an airtight seal within the drawer and alternates compression and decompression cycles to speed up the marinating and infusion time for meat, fish, and poultry. This method opens the fibres of the food so that they absorb the oils and flavours for extremely tasty results in minutes, eliminating the need to marinate overnight or for an extended period.
Tempered glass lid - The vacuum drawer features a durable tempered glass lid with auto balanced hinge to ensure safe use at all times. Spills are easily cleaned across the surface whilst maximum visibility is maintained during the sealing process.
Seamless drawer design - The push-to-open drawer operation with touch controls is effortless and functional while offering perfect alignment with other Smeg built-in appliances. The intuitive, easy-to-read touchscreen display offers direct access to set vacuum and sealing level.
